One-to-one care inside assisted living or memory care in Louisville, KY — without moving your loved one.
Even the best community cannot give one resident constant personal attention. When your loved one needs more than the community can provide — through a rough patch, a recovery, or every day — a private caregiver you choose can be there one-to-one, in their own apartment, alongside the community’s team. Hallmark Homecare is a referral agency: we present experienced caregivers, you choose, and the caregiver works for you.
“Shane Sparks, Hallmark Homecare, provided top notch care for my aunt for several years. She was able to stay in her assisted living apartment until she passed… He is a great communicator with timely responses.”
One resident, one caregiver.
Undivided attention
Meals and hydration, personal care, walks and company, getting to activities, a hard evening not spent alone — for your loved one only, for the hours you choose.
Experienced with memory care
Many of the caregivers we refer have years of experience with memory loss, and our Family Care Solutions Specialist, Tammy Kaninberg, is a certified Dementia Practitioner. Tell us what your loved one’s days look like and we will present candidates suited to them.
Your eyes and ears
A familiar caregiver who knows your loved one notices a change and lets you know — the same face, returning day after day, when you cannot be there yourself.
“Sometimes what a resident needs is not a higher level of care. It is one more person, just for them.”
Alongside the community’s team — working for you.
One-to-one, in their own apartment
- Help with meals and hydration, bathing, dressing and grooming — unhurried, for one person.
- Walks to the dining room and to activities, and company for the long afternoons.
- A steady presence through a hard evening, a recovery, or the night.
- Keeping you informed — a familiar caregiver notices a change and lets you know.
The community keeps its role
- The caregiver works for you — not for the community, and not for Hallmark.
- Tell us the community’s rules for outside caregivers — sign-in, a badge, where the caregiver may and may not go — and you ask the caregiver to follow them.
- The community and your loved one’s clinicians keep their roles; the caregiver works alongside them, to their own level of competency.
- You raise anything directly with the caregiver — and with us, if you want another candidate.
Hallmark facilitates. Your family decides.
Hallmark
We answer the phone — a real person, days, nights and weekends — recruit and screen experienced caregivers, present candidates whose experience and availability fit, and help coordinate getting started, scheduling tools, weekly billing and year-end tax forms. We also help families arrange for a long-term care insurance policy to pay, including the carrier’s forms and invoices.
Your family
You interview and choose the caregiver, and engage them directly — the caregiver works for you, not us. You set the hours and the tasks, and direct the day-to-day care. The community and your loved one’s clinicians own the plan of care; we do not assess your loved one or write it. And you decide whether to continue — at any time, for any reason.

“My family was in immediate need of caregivers for a family member. Hallmark Homecare was recommended by the assisted living facility… He had top notch caregivers in place in less than a day.”
One-to-one care in a community, answered.
Does the caregiver work for the community?
No. The caregiver is engaged directly by your family and works for you — not for the community and not for Hallmark.
Will the community allow an outside caregiver?
Ask your community about its rules for outside caregivers — sign-in, a badge, where the caregiver may and may not go — and tell us. You ask the caregiver to follow them, and the caregiver works alongside the community’s team. We are glad to talk with the community’s nursing or wellness staff as well.
What if my loved one has dementia?
Many of the caregivers we refer have years of experience with memory loss, and our Family Care Solutions Specialist, Tammy Kaninberg, is a certified Dementia Practitioner. Tell us what your loved one’s days look like and we will present candidates suited to them.
Can the caregiver stay overnight in the apartment?
Yes, if you and the community agree. Some families want a caregiver present overnight through a rough stretch — an awake caregiver keeping watch, or one who rests but is there if needed. You decide.
Can the same caregiver follow my loved one from rehab into the community, or from the community back home?
Often, yes. The caregiver works for you, on a schedule you set, and — when their availability allows — can continue with your loved one from one setting to the next, for as long as you choose.
Can long-term care insurance help pay?
Often, yes. Hallmark Homecare is an Approved Provider with John Hancock for long-term care insurance, and many other long-term care policies reimburse care from a caregiver you engage through Hallmark. We take care of the provider side — our approved-provider status, the provider forms your carrier asks us for, and the paid invoices you submit; understanding your own policy and working with your carrier stay with you.
