Guardians, trustees & elder law attorneys

Care your client needs, on a schedule you set, with paperwork that holds up.

We work alongside guardians, conservators, professional fiduciaries and care managers, and can help support a plan of care with the right caregiver — an extension of the care you coordinate, on a schedule your client sets. Weekly billing runs through a secure third-party billing platform and year-end tax forms are issued, which keeps the file clean.

What happens when you call

Four steps, and the family stays in charge.

1

You call

Tell us about your client — the hours, the setting, what the plan of care calls for, and who holds authority to engage services.

2

We present candidates

Experienced caregivers whose availability and experience fit, with their background and experience.

3

You choose for your client

In your fiduciary capacity, or with the family member who holds that authority. The caregiver is engaged directly and works for your client.

4

Care starts, and the records follow

An agreed rate, weekly statements through the billing platform, year-end tax forms issued — the file your accounting needs.

What we do

Hallmark facilitates.

  • Answer the phone — a real person, days, nights and weekends.
  • Recruit and screen experienced caregivers, and present candidates whose experience and availability fit what you tell us.
  • Help coordinate the details for the family — getting started, scheduling tools, weekly billing and the year-end tax forms — so those tasks stay off their plate.
  • Help families arrange for a long-term care insurance policy to pay, including the carrier’s forms and invoices.
  • Tell you honestly, and quickly, when we cannot help in time.
  • Provide weekly billing statements through the platform, and year-end tax forms, for your records.
What stays with the family — and with you

The family decides.

  • Chooses the caregiver — you, in your fiduciary capacity, or the family member who holds authority — and engages the caregiver directly.
  • Sets the schedule and the tasks, and directs the day-to-day care.
  • Decides whether to continue — at any time, for any reason.
  • Owns the plan of care, with the care manager or nurse you work with. We do not assess the ward or write the plan; the caregivers we refer work to their own competency under that direction.
What to tell the family

In one breath.

“Hallmark Homecare is a referral agency. They present experienced caregivers; we choose and engage the caregiver for your mother, and the caregiver works for her — not for an agency. Billing comes weekly through a third-party platform, so the records are clean.”

Questions we are asked

Answered plainly.

Who signs the agreement for a ward or a trust beneficiary?

Whoever holds authority to engage services for your client — you in your fiduciary capacity, or the family member who holds it. Tell us who that is and we will send the client agreement.

What documentation will I have for accountings?

An agreed rate, weekly billing statements through the secure third-party billing platform, and year-end tax forms issued for the caregiver. Nothing is paid from Hallmark's funds — the platform pays the caregiver from your client's payment.

Do you pay or accept referral fees?

No, in either direction. There is nothing between Hallmark and any guardian, attorney or care manager that would need explaining to a court.

How the model works

Hallmark is a referral agency, not a home care employer. The caregivers we refer work directly for the family, more of what the family pays reaches the caregiver, and the family receives higher continuity of care.
