Tammy Kaninberg
Tammy Kaninberg is the Family Care Solutions Specialist at Hallmark Homecare Louisville, and for many families she is the steady voice on the other end of the phone in one of the hardest moments they will face. With more than thirty years in the senior and healthcare industry, she guides families through the complexities of care decisions with empathy and expertise.
The heart of Tammy's role is being a resource and guide — meeting families where they are, at home, in a hospital, or in a community, and helping them understand the options in front of them. She holds degrees in Communication and Business and is a certified Dementia Practitioner, which deepens her understanding of the unique needs of each family. Her greatest fulfillment comes from helping families find answers quickly and setting them up for success.
Outside of work, Tammy's greatest joy has been raising three wonderful children into adulthood with her loving husband, Jack. She cherishes time outdoors, moments with family and friends, and the joyful company of the family's two dogs, Molly and Lola.
Tammy has spent her career helping families find their way.
Tammy's path into senior care began in insurance, where she spent about three years as a licensed agent helping older adults with their supplemental coverage. Wanting to work closer to the people she was serving, she went back to school — working long hospital shifts along the way, transcribing physicians' orders and reading labs, and learning the clinical side of care from the ground up.
When the senior world called, she answered. She spent four years in senior living marketing, where she helped take one community from sixty percent occupancy to full. From there came decades across senior living communities and home care agencies — including a year with A Place for Mom — always on the side of helping families find their way. As a certified Dementia Practitioner, she helped communities open new memory care units, and in 2021 she was honored as Caregiver of the Year.
Away from work, Tammy gives her time to seniors in her community, including fundraising for causes close to her heart. Wherever she has been, the throughline has been the same: meeting families in a hard moment and walking with them toward a good decision.
