Kelly Jahn

Kelly Jahn is the caregiver recruiter at Hallmark Homecare Louisville, and for many of the caregivers we refer, she is the very first person they meet. She has spent more than twenty-five years caring for seniors and for individuals with special abilities, and she brings an enormous heart to everything she does.

Before moving from Florida to Kentucky, Kelly spent eight years with a Southwest Florida in-home care agency, where she began as an office assistant and rose to executive director. She coordinated the schedules for the entire agency as it grew from thirty caregivers to one hundred — and when no one else was available to cover a shift, she would go and care for the client herself, at times looking after two or three of her own clients while she arranged care for everyone else's.

What Kelly loves most about recruiting is the people. She has a gift for meeting a caregiver and recognizing, almost at once, the same compassion she has carried her whole life — the wonderful people who have devoted themselves to caring for others. Scheduling, hands-on caregiving, recruiting: Kelly has done every part of this work, and done it beautifully.

Family is the center of Kelly's world. She is the proud mother of three, a devoted animal lover, and completely smitten with her grandson, Kaden, the true love of her life. She is the first face so many caregivers meet when they join Hallmark, and from the very first hello she makes them feel they have found a place that will treasure them.

A lifetime of caring

Kelly has spent her whole life looking after other people.

Her heart for service reaches back long before Hallmark. She spent ten years supporting children and adults with special needs in their own homes, and another ten as a paraprofessional in a high school for students with special needs — two chapters of her life she treasures to this day. She once helped a young man with Down syndrome land a job at his local market, the kind of quiet victory that has always meant the most to her.

In her twenties she earned her certified nursing assistant certification, and she has cared for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an intermediate care facility. For three years she led the Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Florida, helping older adults across the region find the services and support they needed.

Wherever Kelly has gone, the work has been the same: finding the people who need care, and making sure they are cared for. It is why recruiting feels less like a job to her than a calling — every day, she gets to meet another remarkable caregiver who shares that same devotion.
